Here is Bhavneet Sabharwal in a conversation with GOGO Magazine.
1. What inspired/motivated you to begin a career as an actor?
Well, the thing is that I really wanted to see myself on the Silver screen but also I like to play different characters as it makes me live and experience different thought processes and feelings. In short, acting gives you a platform to live different personalities.
2. Tell me something about your recent projects you are working for?
Recently I have worked with Netflix’s -Masaba Masaba starring Masaba Gupta and Neena Gupta as main lead. It was such a privilege to be part of that show and work with such great actors although I worked as a fashion model for Masaba Masaba but it was really a great opportunity and also I did some work in Bombay dairies (Amazon prime) & a Commercial for BBC.
3. Who is our favourite actor/actress and movie?
It would be hard to choose as there are some great personalities out there but still if needed I will say Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan as they inspire me a lot. And also I am a big fan of Radhika Madan’s work. And about the movies, I have some favourites like Rockstar and Bhag Milkha Bhag.
4. What sort of acting roles are you seeking in the future?
Actually I’m good with comedy but personally I like drama more. Drama inspires me so yeah if I will get a chance to choose or it would be more appropriate to say to expect I’m looking forward to drama more. But any role I will get I will be happy and will try to do my best for sure.
5. What is your philosophy towards your work?
My philosophy towards work is very simple actually I work for the satisfaction I.e. I believe that satisfaction in life is much more important than anything and throughout these years as a model and actor, I figured out these things give me satisfaction. And doing such work which gives you satisfaction is the ultimate feeling. And also I believe that we all should be loyal towards our work that we should give it our all and also I would like to add this here when we work or pursue the dream we have it’s not just your work or dream somehow it started to become a dream of your family too as now it’s my mom’s dream too to see me on the big screen and that’s some other reason too I do my work with loyalty and with my full spirit.
6. Is everything going in your acting career as you expected and how do you deal with the ups and downs?
Frankly not! But as I believe and I think we all that ups and downs are part of life. Due to this pandemic, I’m experiencing many downs but I can’t complain about it as this pandemic is a big deal for all of us. But again moving forward is the only option so just like that I’m moving forward in this line and trying my best.
7. How do you feel about being a part of Masaba Masaba?
As I mentioned above too it was such a great opportunity. I worked as a fashion model for that show and it was a great experience. Also, it was my privilege to work with Netflix as a model as I’m the very first Sardar model who worked for Netflix.
8. Any particular actor/director you would like to work within the future?
I’m a big fan of Johnny Lever Sir. I think his comic timing is of God level. So yeah I would love to work with Johnny lever so that I’ll have some chance to learn his comic timing.
9. Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
it is a difficult one but yeah I guess receiving an Academic award for my performance. Yes, I really wanna see the results and appreciations after my 10 years of hard work.
10. What’s your opinion on nepotism in Bollywood?
It’s a hot topic everywhere these days and we all know it’s everywhere as well, we just can’t stop it and I don’t really have any problem with nepotism in Bollywood. However, as an aspiring actor who is new in this and working towards the goals, Bollywood should give a fair chance to new talent and not so popular faces too. In short, talent and hard work should be considered above all the other factors. I think this will create harmony.
11. How was life in quarantine?
Not at all which I was expecting. But again it’s pandemic time and I can’t help it. It was a tough and rough time for me. Also because of the horrified COVID news and the fact that the whole world is facing such a disaster but personally I lost much of my work too. Many of my shoots were cancelled at that time. So yeah it was a hard time for me and I believe for everyone else.
