Well to me they are like sand that slips through one’s fingers, each grain as each moment spent, to be – Reminisced / Prized / Elapsed whatever it may be and no matter how much you try to hold on to it, it will simply “Slip Away” … All of us are made of memories, the choices we make, the actions we project, the people we love, or who we once loved are nothing but memories that dwells deep within us and you never know when would kick into reality.
The utmost imperative part of a memory is the sentiment involved in it. Assuredly, it has happened to each one of us – Certain mirages evokes a specific flash of the past, walking through the streets where you grew up returns a lot of astonishing and of course not so forgotten memory, a peculiar scent of someone conjures an unambiguous flash of the past as it outlines you of an individual very close to you in the past, right??

Memories are those hushed screams from within that crops up when we cross paths with strangers that remind us of someone vaguely from our past, painting a faint and foggy image in our head — Coz its subconsciously that we carry bits of everything in the shape of memories as we march along. It’s purely memories that truly drives us, memories of distinct events with family and friends along with the stories that we share, breaking bread with those we care most about. When we share our memories, it’s our experiences, those moments from our past, be it happy or gloomy. Many of us get stuck in our mundane day-to-day lives and forget about making memories until a series of events roll around.
The value of memories upsurges over a period coz, what may seem insignificant today might certainly be priceless tomorrow. Memories mostly are an imitation of what we are, the things that we do, and why we do and love as we love, practically we would be nothing without our memories…
All our reminiscences carry with them one or more linked feelings. Those who originate with more powerful emotions, anxiety, abhorrence, rage, blues, melancholy, contentment, etc., are the ones that generally last the most in our memory. I’m sure it’s agreeable?? Isn’t it?
It is indeed these emotions that help us to learn from our experiences so that in the future, we know how to make the choices that will root to a more pleasant emotional state. Our mind remembers only what we want it to remember – We might reminisce a lot of things and most of them will originate back when facing an actual situation.
Our memory is choosy, and the erudition we draw from our memories weighs more profoundly than the memory itself. This makes us learn to segregate between what makes us feel good and what makes us feel bad and to always pick the path that leads us to feel better.
The bad thing is that a lot of our eccentric memories of our life, especially of our childhood, are being curbed deep in our memory and over the time, we have to discern whether it is an actual experience or a fantasy one, coz it is indeed a special bond and of course a lasting memory. Memories don’t die; they stay no matter how much we push them away decisively and try to move on scrupulously and may the truth be told – we can’t.
“Every treasured memory in one’s lifetime either commences with a smile, hug, tears, and so on and so forth coz today’s beautiful flashes are tomorrow’s beautiful remembrances.”
Memory to me is like a Diary that needs to be revisited time and again just to keep them alive, because we are the architect of them….
