Dhruv Angrish is a Singer/Songwriter/Composer. One Man Army kind of an Artist working his way through his music and keen lyrics and the best foot being the melody, he reels in all the feelings and thoughts that may describe what he envisages in his smoky-cloud-of-a-mind. After composing Music and Writing Innumerous songs for almost 10 years he released his First Single as “MAIN HOON CHALA” in September 2016. Thus, declaring the beginning of his Journey. Here is Dhruv Angrish in a conversation with GOGO Magazine.
1) When did your journey as a musician begin?
I have been into music ever since I could remember but started working on my vocals at the age of 15 and then after 10 years of going into different genres, I finally came into this field after working for 3 years as an Engineer. Quit my job stonecold and now I’m here.
2) Which was your first song?
I released my first track “Main Hoon Chala” in 2016 As the beginning of my Journey as a full time musician.
3) Which has been your most memorable live performance?
There have been more than a couple but if I narrow it down to the adrenaline quotient then It has to be at the Horn Ok Please festival at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Where we got to perform in front of 10000 people for the 1st time, It was a slice of Heaven.
4) Who has been your inspiration?
I have tried to get a little bit of something from every person that I have followed and There have been many inspirations but to name some: Atif Aslam, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, KK, Ryan Tedder Miles Kennedy, Shafqat Amanat Ali.
5) Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I was working as an engineer After getting my degree and then I quit my job only to pursue my Passion which was making music. So, after 5 years I would hope on making more music for myself and others because this is Happiness to me.
6) Which is your most preferred genre?
Acoustic, Pop, blues, jazz.
7) Tell us about your latest track.
My latest track is “Dil Ke Raaste” which is my 7th release and Dil Ke Raste is a song composed as a road map of the imagination that we all have and only some get a chance to cultivate and follow that road no matter how hard it gets. It’s all shot in the imagination of a Dreamer that envisages a whole new world only through the words in his mind and then into that Diary.
8) Tell us more about your upcoming projects?
We are already working on the 8th Release Which will be coming up with a video just like “Dil Ke Raaste” and got 3 more releases in the pipeline and will be shared with the world soon.
9) How was life in quarantine?
Just like a lot of artists lockdown was tough but also what I required to gain an absolute perspective regarding the reason I came into this field i.e. original music and creating your own entity through your own tracks. I’m motivated more than ever and would like to say that you gotta look at the brighter side.
