Aditya A is the famous singer behind the viral song Chaand Baaliyan. He composes, writes, sings, and produces music that he doesn’t really want to categorize into a specific genre, hence going by the quote “You can’t take sides when you know the earth is round”.
Here is Aditya in a conversation with GOGO Magazine.
1) When did your journey as a musician begin?
My journey as a musician began a long time back when I started learning guitar and Indian and western classical around 2003. I started composing my own songs in 2009 and since then I’ve been improving my craft and trying to make better music.
2)Tell us more about the experience of expressing your thoughts and feelings through music for such a long time.
Expressing myself through music is magical because when words and music come together, they create something that is a little unexpected, and sometimes it just jazzes so well that you feel wow.
3) Which has been your first track?
My first independent release was “Laila” and it was released on Zee music in 2016 December.
4) Who has been your inspiration?
I’ve had multiple inspirations so I cannot pinpoint just one person. A lot of people who are not even from music inspire you sometimes.
5) Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I’ve no idea where I’ll be 5 years from now. I don’t even know where I’ll be tomorrow but wherever I will be, I would definitely be creating music and vibing to some tunes.
6)How would you describe your music?
I’m not good at describing my music but I would say that it is not bound by a genre. I don’t create music for a particular genre, I just go by the feeling.
7) Which has been your most memorable song or project?
All of the projects have their own memories and they are mostly good but yeah the first one is always special because you are learning so much and you are so excited. So, yeah I would say Laila is my most memorable project.
8)Share some of your achievements with the magazine.
Well, it is difficult to talk about one’s own achievements but yeah I think being a doctor is an achievement, and getting a song viral is also an achievement.
9)How’s life after the covid-19 pandemic.
The covid pandemic was horrible. I feel that it is getting minor now and I’m very happy that it is not as severe as it was. I hope that people come out of all the horrors they faced during the pandemic. For me, I am more relaxed and happy that it’s sort of going away.
