SOUMYA RANJAN – Author of 5 books at the age of 13

Soumya Ranjan is an English author who has written five books and is one of India’s youngest authors. His age is just 13 and he has done tremendous work. He studies in Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya in class eight and lives in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. He is very hardworking towards his task and he also runs an NGO-Mission let’s start. Soumya Ranjan writes books for children and has also written a book on the National best sellers of India. He has been featured in many daily newspapers and has given many interviews. He has been appreciated by many bestselling authors and by many Bollywood stars. He has also received the young achiever’s award in 2020.

Here is Soumya Ranjan in a conversation with GOGO Magazine.

1) How did your journey as a writer begin?

My journey as a writer started when I was in classes 1 and 2. I used to narrate stories to my friends and teachers. My stories used to get appreciated many times which encouraged me to write on a piece of paper when I was in class 5or 6 and I never knew how to publish a book but one of my teachers told me about this and I faced rejection many times but without losing hope I continued writing and published my first book in 2019.

2) Who has been your inspiration?

I am not inspired by anyone but I learned a lot from everyone who guided me…My inspiration is myself.

3) Tell us about first book. 

My first book is quite interesting and moral. My book contains short stories for children and teenagers. A treasure of morals is my first book which gave me the strength to move forward and write better.

4) What is your specialization in writing and why did you choose it?

My specialization in writing is that I feel my writing and I have faith in myself that whatever I will write will be appreciated by the Reader… I also have the confidence to write something good and efficient that will make my writing better. I love writing because I have a passion for it and since childhood, I have had a habit of storytelling and when I was in 4 or 5 I started writing stories and thought of publishing them in 2019.

5) How difficult is it to get a book published?

First book as I didn’t get any guidance towards it. I was just browsing and searching for a good publisher who can publish my book.

6) How much time does it take to complete a book?

It took me almost eight-nine months to complete a book. While writing a book I always think of a plot and I love my characters… I usually take one year to write one book.

7) Tell us about your best book.

The best book yet is the National bestsellers is of India where The Reader can get inspired by the writer’s journey. There are also such incidents that will make the reader hooked till the end.

8) How is life on the other side of writing?

My life on another side of writing is very different because I am a very normal person and I never take things seriously but I try to solve each and every problem and make the person smile.. in my writing profession also  I try to get in contact with every person and be with them

9) Tell us about your next book. 

My next book is about the Hindi Sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.. the show has done tremendous work in the industry and I want that people should read that journey and also I want to give them a tribute. So many serials but this serial has not only made a place in the industry but also it made a place in people’s hearts.
