Here is Mahesh in a conversation with GOGO Magazine.
1) When did your journey as a musician begin?
I started playing guitar at the age of 15 and that led me to my interest in music & songwriting.

2) Tell us more about the experience of expressing your thoughts and feelings through music.
I consider songwriting to be a journalistic pursuit driven by life experiences and realizations that resonate with me most.
3) Which has been your first track?
I wrote a song called “I Wish” when I was probably 15 years old. It was about my summer days as a young boy in the suburbs of Bangalore. Haha. No there isn’t a link for it (un)fortunately.

4) Who has been your inspiration?
There have been many! Musicians and songwriters like John Mayer, Damien Rice, Frank Sinatra, Vulfpeck & Yebba have had a strong influence on me as an artist. I would also include in that list the wonderful musicians who I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years.
5) Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Doing exactly what I am doing today; a lot more & a lot more comfortably!
6)How would you describe your music?
I would say – honest & intentional.

7) Which has been your most memorable song or project?
Accept, my EP released in 2018 has been the most enlightening musical journey & process so far. I’ve got the next EP in the works with bigger plans and special collaborations which I’m also looking forward to.
8)What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Listen to music that you like, that you don’t like & in between. Discover, explore, relate, resonate, write, rewrite, learn, relearn & repeat.
9) Share some of your achievements with the magazine.
Performed across Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam as part of The Boarding Pass Tour – traveled the country on the first national tour by Sofar Sounds India titled “Accept x Sofar Sounds India” tour as part of his EP – performed at Backdoors festival whose lineup also included artists like Anderson. Paak, Wolf Alice, and Watsky – supporting act for UK-based singer-songwriter Lucy Rose – collaborated and performed with world-renowned Jazz musician Christian Galvez – has opened the stage for popular Indian acts such as Sid Sriram, Prateek Kuhad, Parvaaz, When Chai Met Toast, The Raghu Dixit Project, Thermal and a Quarter, The Kutle Khan Project, and many more.

10) How’s life after the covid-19 pandemic.
It’s new. It’s different & at times intimidating. Looks like life is back to normal.
