In response to the backsliding of LGBTIQ rights in some EU countries, notably Poland and Hungary, the European Parliament has declared the European Union an “LGBTIQ Freedom Zone”. LGBTIQ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Inter-sex and Queer. A majority of countries in the EU (23/27) recognize same-sex unions, with 16 legally recognizing same-sex marriage.

IT’S ADOPTED 🌈

Poland likewise plans to close an escape clause that permitted same-sex couples to receive. The Polish government reported its proposition for the reception boycott only hours before the European Parliament’s assertion on the side of LGBT rights. Same-sex connections are not lawfully perceived in Poland, and the nation as of now forbids same-sex couples from embracing kids together. Notwithstanding, as single individuals are allowed to receive, some have figured out how to get around the boycott by applying to embrace as single guardians. Under the new law, specialists will be needed to perform record verifications on anybody applying to embrace a youngster as a solitary parent. On the off chance that an individual is discovered to apply as a solitary parent when they are in an equivalent sex relationship, they will be criminally obligated.

The resolution provides LGBTIQ persons everywhere in the EU the freedom to live and publicly show their sexual orientation and gender identity without fear of intolerance, discrimination or persecution. It further urged the authorities at all levels of governance across the EU to protect and promote equality and the fundamental rights of all, including LGBTIQ persons.

And now: Just two citizens of #LGBTIQFreedomZone European Union celebrating a bit.

Tomorrow, the struggle continues.

But tonight we raise a glass on our wonderful 🌈 community. pic.twitter.com/HwkBxpUqWe
