It has been three years but still feels like yesterday that I was in the USA and living the best time of my life. For the first time I was away from my friends and family I was both scared and excited. It was a 25 days (about 3 and a half weeks) trip to Arkansas.
Arkansas
Arkansas is a southern U.S. state bordering the Mississippi River. Its capital, Little Rock, hosts the Clinton Presidential Center, housing Bill Clinton’s presidential archives. While living there in Jonesboro I also visited Little Rock and Memphis.
Little Rock
Little Rock is home to the former U.S president Bill Clinton. There is a lot to do while in little rock like visiting the beautiful Old mill or walking through the famous river market district. Little Rock also has its own State Capitol, based on the design of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, the Arkansas State Capitol is made of white marble and granite. If you have a keen interest in history then William J Clinton Presidential Library and Museum is the place for you.
It exhibits more than one million photos and gifts that Clinton received as president. Moreover, it also has a full-scale replica of the Cabinet Room and the Oval Office.
Memphis, Tennessee
Memphis is a city on the Mississippi River in southwest Tennessee, popular for the persuasive strains of blues, soul, and rowdy ‘that started there. Elvis Presley, B.B. Ruler, and Johnny Cash recorded collections at the amazing Sun Studio, and Presley’s Graceland house is a famous fascination.
Beale Street – One of the most iconic streets in America!
Other than visiting Memphis zoo and AutoZone park for a baseball game, Beale street is the place to be in America. It is the most visited touring attraction for soak up feel and nightlife. It is the official home of the Blues. It is the liveliest place I have ever been to. When in Memphis be sure to check out the brass music notes memorializing Memphis music legends on the sidewalks and the pop-up shops.
It was my first solo trip and it turned out to be everything I hoped for. There are many other beautiful places in Arkansas to check out. Since I was short on time, I only visited Little Rock and Memphis. If you are ever in southern parts of the US be sure to visit Beale Street.
