Shia is an emerging artist from Mumbai whose soundscape deftly transitions between laidback, effortless poetry and glacial, modern R&B. Covering narratives which highlight her personal journey that universally connects with hopes, ambitions, and struggles of young women across the world topped off with her dulcet tone, Shia is a prodigal talent that is at the cusp of defining the future sound of India.
Here is Shia in a conversation with GOGO Magazine.
1) When did your journey as a musician begin?
About a year ago when I released my first single Jah BLESSINGS.
2) Tell us more about the experience of covering narratives that highlight your personal journey.
A lot of my music is revolving around the process of stepping into your full potential, about spiritual growth, and the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and resilience through life – something that can be applicable to all.

Azadi Record’s homegrown artists Zero Chill.
5) Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I see myself establishing my discography, that’s my only goal to make good quality music and go on tour to spread the joy through it – anything beyond that is just a bonus outcome of my passion.
6)How would you describe your music?
New age hip hop Rnb and funk.
7) Which has been your most memorable song or project?
Still to come.
8)What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Do not ever give up or let any external factor bring you down. Moreso, don’t copy or compare yourself to others as art is everyone’s personal journey and one must strive to be the best version of themselves.
9)Share some of your achievements with the magazine.
My greatest achievement has been getting signed but the best is yet to come.
10)How was life in quarantine?
Amazing it gave me a ton of time to find my sound and practice.
