Indian Premier League, Dream 11 IPL 2020 is ready to take off from 19th September 2020. The fixture for the 13th season of IPL got announced on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, wherein details of all the matches have been clearly mentioned. The first power pack match will take place between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Dhoni-led-team Chennai Super Kings. In 2019 the final was played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings and now IPL 2020 is ready, to begin with, these two big teams.

This year IPL is hosted by UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic and all the matches will be played in 3 stadiums, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. The first match between MI and CSK will be played in Abu Dhabi whereas the match on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, will be played between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab in Dubai. According to the fixtures released, there will be a total of 56 matches from Sept. 19 to Nov. 3, 2020. Out of these 56 matches, there are 10 days wherein doubleheaders will be played. Doubleheaders are the days where two matches are played in a single day. The match timings for this season have been changed to 7:30 pm IST. The majority of matches will be played at 7:30 at night but for doubleheaders, the timings are 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm IST.
Dream 11 IPL 2020 is a lot different from other seasons. The first match of IPL 2020 will be very special as two big teams will be facing each other but without some of the all-time big players. On Sept. 19 Mumbai Indians will face Chennai Super Kings but without Lasith Malinga, who’s a leading wicket-taker in IPL. Similarly, CSK will make a roaring entry in-ground but without Mr IPL, Suresh Raina and legendary bowler Harbhajan Singh. These 3 players have been pulled out of IPL 2020 due to personal reasons. Therefore, it’s to see who proves out to be a better performer in the first Dream 11 IPL 2020 match despite of all odds. Also, the quarantine and training days of IPL have not been turned out well for CSK as at first 13 members of the team got tested positive for Covid-19, team got lesser number of days to practice and then Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh backed out. It’s been a tough one for CSK but it’s, even more, to see how CSK shows extra power on the field this time.
This will be the first time ever in 13 years that IPL’s final match i.e. scheduled on Nov. 10, 2020, will be played on Tuesday, a working day. Also, it’s the first time in IPL wherein ‘n’ number of COVID replacements is allowed. Earlier, a number of replacements were restricted but this will be the first time where teams are allowed to replace as many players as needed if any player tests positive for COVID. Right from sponsor title to fan absence in stadiums, a lot has been changed in this IPL. IPL 2020 won’t witness any fans due to the ongoing pandemic. The players will stay in the bio bubble and any violation of bio-security protocols would bring in strict punishments for the players. Also, this time commentators will do the commentary from home as no commentator is allowed to reach UAE and do the work. Thus, there are many firsts in this season.
IPL this time is happening during the festival season so that people can enjoy the festivals along with IPL 2020. It is a bonus for people to watch IPL during festivities and encourage players and teams through various social media platforms where it will be streamed. So, pull up your socks as IPL is about to roll.
