The Premier League kicked off last week and a few matches were absolute thrillers, with every club starting their new season with great hopes only a few got clear 3 points. The reason why this season is crucial for a few clubs is due to the investments in the restructuring of squads. While it has been fruitful for a few clubs were far from their best, Liverpool, for instance, grabbed the 3 points with a 4-3 victory but the game was an absolute delight to watch, Leeds were a better side with the game they displayed, it never felt the club was away from the first tie for almost 30 odd years.

Manchester United and Manchester City were given an extra week off, postponing their opening fixtures to a later date due to playing in the latter stages of Europa League and Champions League respectively. Arsenal started their season with a comfortable win against Fulham, taking whole 3 points with goals from Lacazette, Aubameyang and Gabriel, Willian provided two assists making it a perfect debut after his free transfer from Chelsea. It was Southampton against Crystal Palace in the second game, where although the game was dominated by Southampton but it was Crystal Palace who won the match with an excellent finish from Wilfred Zaha, who was also denied a goal due offside in the later stages of the game. West Ham against Newcastle United was yet again a fine display of attacking football with both teams fighting absolutely hard for the three points, it was the two debutants, Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick who scored for Newcastle to give them the opening game victory whereas West Ham was twice denied by the goalpost.
Brendan Rodgers’ side Leicester was against West Brom and it was Leicester who dominated the game with their attacking side, with almost 65% possession it was an easy 3 goal win for the foxes with Jamie Vardy netting 2 goals from the spot and the debutant Castagne scoring the other. Tottenham against Everton was the fixture to watch for and it was totally worth the time, James Rodriguez making his debut for Everton and Jose Mourinho against Carlo Ancelotti was yet another reason for the watching the game. The last time they met it was Tottenham who won the game with the scoreline of 1-0, however, it was Everton who outplayed Tottenham to win the game with a sole goal from Calvert Lewin who scored an excellent header to beat Lloris. Chelsea kicked off their 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a 3-1 win at Brighton on Monday. Jorginho converted an early penalty before Reece James and Kurt Zouma sealed the three points with second-half strikes after Leandro Trossard levelled the score for Brighton in the 54th minute.
This week the matches to look out for would be Chelsea vs Liverpool as both the teams are top contenders for the Premier League and an early result would help a lot in the table. Leeds United is one such team that can surprise the fans with the game they played against Liverpool.
