Q. What does your artwork represent?

My favorite subjects to paint are the Swedish archipelago, with its beautiful but sometimes also very rough nature, scenes that vary a lot over the seasons and with different kinds of weather. I also love to paint animals both wild and domestic. I think it is because these subjects are wonderful and fascinating to paint in watercolor where the pigment can mix and mingle and create lovely texture ”on its own”!

Q. What inspires you?

It can be anything from a beautiful new color I want to try, a mix of pigments I’ve tested that gave an interesting result which I want to try in a subject, a beautiful sky.

Q. What does your art mean to you?

I work as a highschool teacher which I absolutely love, but it is also often very stressful – therefore painting to me is relaxation – it is a kind of meditation because while you are painting a watercolor you can not think about anything else but on what is happening on your paper.
