Nissan Magnite has been unveiled after months of teasers and leaks. Japanese carmakers are hoping to create hype and now the Magnite hold the expectation of the people because this car will be competing with one of the best selling cars in this segment like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Urban cruiser, Hyundai venue etc.
The car is expected to launch in early of January 2021 and is expected to be priced from 5.5 lakh to 9.55 lakhs. The car will be available in 4 different variants- XE, XL, XV High and XV Premium.
EXTERIOR
The front profile of Nissan magnate gives such clean and muscular looks. The bonnet has lots of cuts and creases which gives it a bold and muscular look. The wrap-around Bi-projector LED headlamps peels way back to the sides make it more stylish. LED DRLs are mounted just below the headlights in L-shaped manner and LED fog lamps are mounted on the lower bumper. However, the focal point of the front is the massive grille surrounded by chrome.
It gets 205mm of ground clearance, 16-inch of rim as standard. Silver finish on sides and front as well. Dual tone paint, roof rails which can be loaded up-to 15 kg. The side profile is more cross-over. The tail lamps are not LED but looks very attractive. Again silver finish and cladding on the rear profile as well. To add more perks to the looks, Magnite has a signature logo of Nissan and “Magnite” in the centre.
It has a boot space of 336 liters and can be increased by folding the middle seats.
INTERIOR
Well the interior of Magnite is not as good looking as its exterior. There is a lot of cheap looking hard plastic everywhere. AC vents looks like Lamborghini’s AC vents but hard plastic takes all the looks away. However, it does comes with 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with wireless android auto and apple car play. The coolest feature of all is that it has a 360 degree camera. Keeping aside the clarity aspect, the 360 degree comes really handy. It is also equipped with a rear camera. It also features a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster with neat animations and smart tyre pressure graphics. The car features Auto vlimate control, rear AC vents steering audio and phone controls, cruise control, air purifier, ambient lights and 6-speaker audio system.
The front seats in magnite has good side support and thigh support is good too in both front and rear. The leg room and head room in the rear is pretty good. It does come with a flat floor in rear, charging socket, middle arm rest and adjustable rear headrest.
The car also comes with safety features like vehicle dynamics control, ABS with EBD, traction control, 2 airbags, hill start assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts.
PERFORMANCE
The Nissan Magnite compact SUV will be available with two petrol engine options – a 72hp, 1.0-litre, naturally aspirated unit paired to a 5-speed manual, and a 1.0-liter, turbo-charged unit (HRA0) that’s good for 100hp and 160Nm of torque. The 1.0 turbo-petrol will come with the choice of either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic (with which torque drops to 152Nm). There will be no diesel engine option on the Magnite.
