A suspected operative of the Islamic State Abu Yusuf was arrested at around 11.30 PM in the national capital’s Dhaula Kuan area, and two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were seized by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.  Police said the accused was a lone wolf and was planning an attack in the national capital. Nearly two dozen National Security Guard (NSG) officials along with bomb detection and defusal teams arrived near the Buddha Jayanti Park from where the suspected ISIS operative was caught. A pistol was also seized from the accused.

“There was an exchange of fire after which he was arrested. He was a lone wolf who had planned an attack in the national capital. We have recovered a pistol and two IEDs from him,” Pramod Kushwaha, deputy commissioner of police (special cell), said.

It was only recently that a U.N. report on terrorism has warned that there were “significant numbers” of Islamic State (IS) terrorists in Kerala and Karnataka, noting that the al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) terror group is planning attacks in the region.

The 26th report of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team concerning the IS, the al-Qaeda and associated individuals and entities said that the AQIS operates under the Taliban umbrella from the Nimruz, Helmand and Kandahar provinces of Afghanistan.

The NIA had also conducted searches & seized incriminating material from those connected to a group called AL hind in Bengaluru. A charge sheet was filed linking this organization to the ISIS. Now a fresh arrest has been made by the NIA, this time a doctor form Bengaluru.

28-year-old Abdur Rahman who is a doctor by profession was arrested from his residence in Basavangudi in Bengaluru. The NIA has said that he is in contact with the Islamic State. He was working as an Ophthalmologist at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore.

“This case was initially registered by Delhi Police Special Cell in March 2020, after the arrest of a Kashmiri couple viz. Jahanzaib Sami Wani and his wife Hina Bashir Beigh from Okhla Vihar, Jamia Nagar in Delhi. The couple was found to be having affiliations with Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), which is a banned terrorist organisation and is a part of ISIS and were found to be involved in subversive and anti-national activities. They were also found to be in touch with Abdullah Basith, who was already lodged in Tihar jail in another NIA case (ISIS Abu Dabhi Module)” said a press release by the NIA.

All these planning of attacks against the country can be linked to many issues but mainly the abrogation of the special status of article 370, CAA+NRC, and Ram Mandir verdict. Uttar Pradesh goes on high alert.

To my fellow countrymen and readers, if you have an issue with the government and their governance, protest all you want in every legitimate way but you don’t conspire against your very own nation. Nothing is or shall be greater than the motherland.
