Madhya Pradesh is one of the kings of the Indian jungle when it comes to tiger parks, and the Jungle Book forests of Kanha Tiger Reserve are it’s most famous. Among the 22 species of large mammals, the royal Bengal tigers are one of the major attractions. One of the best tiger reserves in India, the present-day area stretches over the 940-kilometer square which is divided into two sanctuaries: Hallon and Banjar.
Kanha National Park is one of the most striking national parks in the Maikal range that proves to be the most inspiring place for the creative creatures. Creatures that don’t live in the jungles but have great fascinations for the jungles, the intelligent creatures, the human being, who have great alluring for the wildlife and natural bewilderment. Among those intelligent creatures, the most notable writer and novelist of 18th century Rudyard Kipling once visited this place, the place which is the perfect home to magnanimous counts of Barasingha, the Swamp Deer. And to the curiosity of many, the invention of “The Jungle Book” by Rudyard Kipling was the result of the perfect inspiration of Kanha and the nearby areas.
The park was established in the year 1955 and has since actively contributed to the preservation of many endangered species. The National Park was taken under the Project Tiger Reserve in 1974. Abundant in flora and fauna, the Kanha National Park houses one of the rarest species of deer- the Barasingha. It is known for the unique Barasingha conservation to save the species that were once on the verge of extinction.
The landscapes and the surrounding luxurious meadows along with the wooded strands and the dense maroons of forests offer magnanimous sightseeing experiences for the nature lovers. Making the land more beautiful and adorable, the crystal clear streams amidst the dense jungle cleanses the surroundings and makes the wildlife unrivalled.
The Kanha National Park is the ideal home for wide ranges of wild creatures; right from the mighty tigers to the most populated Barasingha and the countless species of plants, birds, reptiles, and insects. This reserve has fascinated many travelers around the corners of the world with its developed infrastructure specially meant for them. The best location here to enjoy the most is the Bammi Dadar, also known as the Sunset Point.
