Vikas Singh is representing Sushant Singh’s dad KK Singh, who is battling the Maharashtra government in Supreme Court, requesting that the test into the actor’s demise be moved to the CBI.
Questions arose against the Mumbai Police when the lawyer said that the autopsy report did not mention the time of death.
“The post mortem report that I have seen does not mention the time of death which is a crucial detail. Whether Sushant was hung after being killed or he died by hanging can be cleared with the time of death. Mumbai Police and Cooper Hospital will have to answer these questions. CBI inquiry is needed in this matter to know the truth,” Vikas Singh told news agency ANI.
“I think Mumbai Police is a professional force. But, it can only perform professionally when ministers allow it to do so. In high-profile cases like this one, politicians interfered and became a hindrance for police to their duty professionally,” he added.
The Mumbai Police said that he died by suicide on June 14 and began investigating whether he was driven by clinical depression and ugly rivalries in the film industry.
Over a month later, the entertainer’s dad who lives in Bihar filed a case with the Patna Police, denouncing his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, additionally an entertainer, and her family members of duping him monetarily, intellectually hassling him and driving him to self destruction.
Rhea Chakraborty denied all the charges and said she had no objection if the Supreme Court handed over the case to CBI.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday filed a case into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput naming his ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and four other family members or known associates apart from unknown persons as accused, officials said.
The case was handed over to CBI by the Bihar government after Rajputs father KK Singh and the Bihar police alleged a cover-up by the Mumbai police. They have accused the Mumbai police of destroying evidence and deliberately ignoring leads in the case in an attempt to derail it. The Maharashtra police have questioned the jurisdiction of the Bihar police in the matter. A final call on this matter — whether Bihar police have the jurisdiction to transfer a case to CBI — will be taken by the Supreme Court later this week .
Many celebrities are demanding for CBI investigation to get the late actor justice.
Several conspiracy theories have linked the death of Sushant to the death of DIsha Salian (his manager). The opposition BJP and politicians from Bihar have targeted Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya Thackeray, also a Maharashtra minister, saying there have been attempts to scuttle the probe.
A week after slamming the Indian media for dragging his name in the twin alleged suicide cases of Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian, actor Sooraj Pancholi has now filed a police complaint on Monday, August 10 at the Versova Police Station against people who are harassing him and carrying unverified news reports which link to Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput’s death cases. As per the source close to the actor, he has filed a complaint against certain sections of media, YouTubers, and some other people for spreading conspiracy theories and fake news on social media.
