Q. What does your artwork represent?
My artwork represent a piece of me. My dreams, my travels, places I wish to go, scenes that move me, my emotional state at that time, the world as I want to see it.
Q. What inspires you?
There is no dearth of inspiration for me. A beautiful picture, a lovely dream, a movie, another artist’s work, sometimes a color. Anything can be an inspiration. I am still learning and exploring watercolors. I hope to excel in my techniques and reach the stage where I can convey my deeper thoughts in my art.
Q. What does your art mean to you?
I am a creative person at heart. I have always been inclined to art and crafts. While I was in school, art was a huge part of my persona. I used to paint and sketch. But I took it for granted and pursued other fields of study. I did B.Tech in Computer Science and started working as an IT consultant. Somewhere down the line, I dropped art altogether. Juggling work and home and kids became the priority.
I started or rather restarted painting during the pandemic. Once I took up the brush again, I realized how much I missed doing art. Deep within, I identify myself as an artist.
I mostly work with watercolors now. I love the medium and it allows me to have the work-home-art balance that I need.
