Q. Why you made the artwork?
I always work in an abstract style, I love the freedom that comes with it! Back in August 2019, I have commissioned a piece of art very similar to this, and since it had been a year since I painted it, I wanted to see how much my style had evolved since then. I really enjoyed doing this piece and was quite happy with how it turned out, it was a really relaxing process. Painting the human figure is one of my favorite subjects, the energy that you can create is amazing.
Q. How you made the artwork?
This piece is done in acrylic paint on a 30cm x 40cm canvas. I started out by sketching the rough outline of the body, and then from then on it was just multiple layers of paint until I was happy with the outcome. The first layer and the final layer are always miles apart, but I just kept building different colors and brush strokes until I was satisfied.
Q. What inspires you to be an artist?
I have loved art since I was really young, I’ve always been a creative person but I never saw it as anything more than that until recently. In the last year I have found a huge passion for painting and creating art, I just love it so much! I take inspiration from the colors and forms in nature, I also love architecture and the various shapes within the structures around me. Even though most of my work is abstract, when I am lacking motivation, seeing the amazing colors and forms around me in everyday life always helps me to gather some new ideas.
