Q. WHY YOU MADE THE ARTWORK?
Moments when I felt highly motivated and fulfilled. I want to make these sensations last forever and I want people to feel the same energy when looking at my paintings. I focus on simple everyday scenes such as a walk in the city, or even a talk with friends, things that usually people take for granted. The intention is to induce the spectator to think about the value of time and the small pleasures of life.
Q. HOW YOU MADE THE ARTWORK?
Normally, my process consists of photographing a moment during my travels and a few months later, when I feel nostalgic, I paint it to visually reprocess that moment. The painting process itself makes me feel as I am living that moment again, and the final product works as a visual trigger that helps me maintain the motivation for the next works. In some cases, I use photos of other artists as a reference, but always about a place or something that I feel extremely connected to. With this, I am attempting to develop a unique way of reproducing reality through my own interpretation and personality.
Q. WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO BE AN ARTIST?
I decided to become an artist this year after coming back from a 5-month work and vacation experience in England, Italy, and the USA. That experience shifted my paradigms and made me pursue a childhood dream – to become a visual artist and travel the world. This period abroad was the time when I felt the most freedom and inspiration in my whole life, and that is why I want to register it with my own hands.
