UNCERTAINTY
THE SIXTH SENSE

Q. What does your artwork represent?

I am a figurative artist. My favorite medium is the charcoal powder technique using only brushes, as it allows me to achieve a very high degree of realism and an extremely smooth and elegant final effect.
Through my art, I try to express my vision of the world.
Spirituality is a very important part of my life. The metaphysical, transcendental world, the mystery, draws my attention a lot.
It is what I try to convey through my art. Topics like the passage of time, the mystery,
the journey within ourselves to know and explore our infinite potential and connect with our true nature,
the understanding that we are spirit creatures trapped in a physical body living a human experience,
the feeling of Oneness with the whole universe, the importance of living in contact with nature.

The main theme of my works are women, children, and animals. In general, the human face is what catches my attention. I put special emphasis on the gaze considering that the eyes express our deepest and truest feelings, the inner beauty, and the mystery of human diversity.

Q. What inspires you?

I am mainly inspired by people and animals. Human faces inspire me the most. Above all that evokes feelings and invites me to create a story that I finally express with my brushstrokes.
As an artist, I need to find creative ways to express my ideas. Once an idea comes to mind, I outline the basic composition. Once I know what I’m looking for, I need to see it visually. It is the moment of references, they are essential especially when your style is realistic and you want to stay true to nature. I usually combined many different resources by taking them directly from life, nature, photos, and imagination. Many times I need a real model to take my own photos and finally interpret them in my own style.

Q. What does your art mean to you?

Art is my refuge but also space where I can reflect my deepest feelings, my thoughts, and above all express myself with total freedom. It is a place where I can create my own world in which I can let my imagination run wild and finally share it with the viewer.
