The Release of Results
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow announced the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 in December. This year’s results continued the trend of engineers dominating the toppers list, a pattern observed in recent years. Exam Conduct and Objections
The CAT was conducted on November 26, and candidates were allowed to raise objections from December 5 to 8. The CAT centre received a total of 85 objections across three sections and shifts. These were reviewed by a panel from IIM-Lucknow.
Historical Context
Compared to previous years, 80.8% of the toppers in the 2021 CAT were engineers. In the 2022 edition, of the 2.22 lakh candidates, 74.5% of the toppers were from engineering backgrounds.
CAT’s Wider Influence
The CAT 2023 score is not just crucial for admission into IIMs but also holds significance for 91 non-IIM institutions that use the CAT score for admissions.
