Mohammed AKA Maverick BeatBox has been in the hip hop scene since the age of 15. He started learning beatboxing after seeing a senior do basic beatbox, he got interested to do it and slowly started practising it for 2-3 years and then stepped first time on stage in 2017 on his fresher’s day which was also his first stage performance and he won the title of Mr. Talented of the college, he pursued his Bachelors from Presidency College, Bangalore recently and got engaged to love of his life Heena and she motivates him a lot to do more and more into hip hop.
Here is Maverick in a conversation with GOGO Magazine.
1) When did your journey as a beatboxer begin?
At the beginning of 2015 when I heard my senior doing beatboxing I felt it interesting me and my friends use to sit at last bench and try beatboxing just for fun it was amazing to start as almost 6-7people in last bench use to do basic beatbox but only I choose to make it as my passion,

2) Which was your first performance?
My performance was in a marriage back in 2016 I was in a sangeet function where I tried beatboxing on mic and enjoyed beatboxing on it.

3) Tell us more about Beatboxing.
Beatboxing is the 5th element of hip hop which is basically an art of imitating the sounds of musical instruments by using lips nose throat etc. which sounds natural.

4) Who has been your inspiration?
I never got inspired to beatbox it just happened one day as I said I saw my senior do basics I felt it interested but yaa I inspire myself to do better and better in beatbox.
5) Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I would like to see myself doing shows and gigs all around India and showing people what is beatboxing.
6) Which has been your most memorable performance?
Well, Rannvijay Singh show was memorable because it was amazing performing with him on the stage. But the most amazing performance was my recent one in Kolhapur where I performed in front of my fiance which made me so happy and proud.

7) Tell us about your latest performance and achievement.
Recently I performed for the first-ever hip hop cypher in Kolhapur organized by a Hip hop dance school named K-unit dance studio in Kolhapur. Last year I won Mr Talent of Bangalore city out of 1000’s of audition in times fresh face hosted by times of India.

8) Tell us about your work with GULLY BOYS.
It was amazing performing with them like a dream come true. Being in their promotional events as always gully gang is a hard Parivar and it’s a vibe to be with them jamming etc.
9) Tell us about your experience with India’s biggest growing Hip Hop Community.
The most important thing about being part of Wanandaf was they gave everyone an opportunity to be more than what they can be I improvised my beatboxing when I use to be with them and I started rapping as I got inspired by rappers over there.

10) How was life in quarantine?
Covid had stressed everyone’s life but still, me being an artist doesn’t stop entertaining my followers. I executed many idea’s and which went on to be hit. I made different videos like beatbox video, rap song on covid 19 and farmers, beatbox cover for a few songs, made meme’s too so yaa quarantine life made me more productive then I was before.
