Just 16 days after the COVID had crossed 2 million cases in India, another million people were tested positive taking the tally to 30,63,567 in India. But the good news that can be seen is that according to MoHFW (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) 22,80,566 people have recuperated in the country so far pushing the recovery rate to 74.90 percent.

The first case of corona was reported in the month of January and from then the speed of transmission of the virus has increased with the increase in number of days, and has now almost affected 70,000 people in the last 24 hours, but almost around 58,000 people have also recovered and the number of active cases are around 707668. More than 8 lakhs tests per day are now being conducted.
While the number of deaths due to the pandemic are recorded to be 56,706 keeping the mortality rate a little lower than 2%, 1.86% to be precise.
